Navigator I and II

Navigator Workshops:

Through our Navigator workshops you will learn how to safely and competently find your way using both modern tools such as the map and compass as well as traditional methods of using nature as your guide.  Among several other skills, you will learn how to read maps, plot coordinates and routes, and use a compass and the landscape to find your way.  Following our mantra that the knowing is in the doing, this course will utilize several hands-on activities and exercises culminating in either a day or night compass course.

Class Format:

Friday night will consist of classroom work and immersion into map and compass familiarization.  Saturday will focus on hands-on skills and will conclude with the participant negotiating the land navigation course.
